Intuitive Adds New Manufacturing Facility in Malaysia

Intuitive has entered a lease agreement with Penang Development Corporation (PDC) for its new manufacturing facility in Bandar Cassia Technology Park, Penang, Malaysia.

The 316,000-square-foot facility is expected to open in 2028 and create 1,200 skilled jobs by 2032. It will manufacture da Vinci surgical instruments and electromechanical devices, expanding Intuitive’s global manufacturing capacity to meet growing Asia-Pacific demand.

Since entering Asia Pacific over twenty years ago, Intuitive’s da Vinci systems have helped surgeons treat more than 2.5 million patients across 13 markets. The company supports minimally invasive care through its technology, clinical education, and robotic-assisted surgery ecosystem.

Last month, the Sunnyvale, California-based surgical robotics company began partnering with Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders to raise awareness of surgical treatment options.
